WHAT IS IT?
Removal or reversal procedures are performed when a patient wishes to reduce, remove or correct the effects of a previous cosmetic treatment.
This may include removing breast implants, addressing implant-related concerns, or dissolving certain hyaluronic acid fillers when medically appropriate.
However, not every cosmetic treatment can simply be reversed. The available options depend on the product used, the area treated, the amount of tissue involved and the patient's current condition.

Implant Removal
Breast implants may be removed when a patient no longer wants them, wishes to change implant size or type, or develops concerns that require further assessment.
Depending on the individual case, implant removal may be performed alone or combined with other procedures such as capsule management or breast reshaping.

Filler Reversal / Removal
Certain hyaluronic acid fillers may be dissolved using an appropriate enzyme when medically suitable.
Other filler materials may not be reversible in the same way and may require a different treatment approach depending on their location, amount and surrounding tissue.

CAN EVERYTHING BE COMPLETELY REVERSED?
Not always.
Removal does not necessarily mean the treated area will return exactly to the way it looked before the original procedure.
Previous surgery, stretched skin, scar tissue, tissue changes, filler migration or the amount of material previously used can all affect the final outcome.
This is why a proper assessment is important before deciding on any removal or reversal procedure.

IMPLANT REMOVAL
Implant removal is not simply the reverse of breast augmentation.
The breast tissue and skin may have changed since the original surgery, particularly after many years of having implants.
Your surgeon will assess the implant, breast tissue, skin condition and surrounding capsule before determining the most appropriate surgical approach.
Some patients may require additional reshaping procedures depending on the condition of the breast after implant removal.

FILLER REVERSAL
Some hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate.
However, filler reversal is not simply a matter of injecting an enzyme everywhere filler may be present.
The doctor must first assess the treatment area, determine the likely filler location and consider the amount and type of product previously used.
Other filler materials may not respond to hyaluronidase and may require a different management plan.

CAN MY BREASTS RETURN EXACTLY TO HOW THEY LOOKED BEFORE IMPLANTS?
Not necessarily. Breast tissue and skin may change after augmentation, pregnancy, ageing, weight changes or simply from having implants for an extended period.
CAN ALL FILLERS BE DISSOLVED?
No. Hyaluronidase is generally used for suitable hyaluronic acid fillers. Other types of filler may require different management.
WILL FILLER DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY AFTER DISSOLVING?
The response varies depending on the product, amount, location and individual tissue response. More than one treatment may sometimes be considered depending on the case.
DO I NEED SURGERY TO REMOVE BREAST IMPLANTS?
Breast implants are surgically placed devices, so their removal generally requires another surgical procedure.
CAN I REPLACE MY IMPLANTS DURING THE SAME SURGERY?
In selected cases this may be possible, but the decision depends on the condition of the implant, surrounding tissue and the reason for removal.
CAN I HAVE ANOTHER COSMETIC PROCEDURE IMMEDIATELY AFTER REMOVAL?
Not always. Some patients may benefit from allowing inflammation, infection or tissue changes to settle before considering another cosmetic procedure.
